givingtuesdayA little bit of philanthropy today.

It’s ‪#‎givingtuesday‬, and if you feel so inclined, I hope you donate to a cause that’s worthy and near & dear to your heart.

If you need some options, let me share two that are near and dear to mine:

Minds Matter of Los Angeles mentors high school students from low income families who show academic promise and ambition. I mentored a student for the past three years, and I’m so proud of the woman she’s become. Now a college freshman at UCLA, she’s kicking ass and taking names. (Says the proud and not at all biased tiger mentor.) (Donate to Minds Matter here.)

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, via Team in Training, trains everyday men and women to become endurance athletes, from couch to finish line, while we raise money to find a cure for cancer. It’s unfortunate, but 1 out of 3 people are diagnosed with some form of cancer in their lifetime. And I’ve seen too many people I love affected by its tentacles. (Donate to LLS here.)

Donate if you like, or don’t. Your donation to either organization is tax deductible (at least in the US, but consult your tax professional, please). If you prefer to give time, both organizations are looking for great volunteers and/or future marathoners/triathletes/cyclists to join their ranks.

Thank you.
