My 2018 started off with a retweet from Backstage for an article I wrote almost a year ago. I absolutely love it when I’m able to help my fellow performers by sharing what I learned from my career in marketing with them.
Along the way, I’ve also been featured on podcasts like Entrepreneur on Fire, The Coachzing Podcast, Saying Yes and Theater of the Courtroom. And I’ve booked speaking engagements with Fortune 100 companies, acting student groups, entrepreneur mastermind groups and more.
This stuff didn’t just materialize out of thin air. With the help and encouragement of my friend + mentor, Selena Soo, I was able to pitch these media outlets + podcasters and get accepted to share my story.
She’s doing some (free) training and if this is something you’re interested in for your own work/career, I highly encourage you to check it out. You can sign up for the video below (just click on the pic):
Grab a pen to take notes, because you’ll find out:
- How to know if the media will love your idea even before you pitch it (Hint: your idea should have at least one these THREE things)…
- How to know WHEN to send your pitch (for TV, magazines, or podcasts) – if you get this wrong, the media can’t feature you, even if they really love your idea…
- Selena’s #1 strategy for predicting what stories the media is looking for…at any time of year. When you do this, the media will respond to your pitches ASAP.
Plus, you’ll get another free gift: Selena’s 2018 Publicity Insider Calendar. It contains 52 weeks of proven story ideas to take the guesswork out of pitching. People went nuts for this last year.
If you’re a creative entrepreneur, it’s hard to book work without sharing what you do with those in a position to hire you. Clients don’t have ESP. Flexing our marketing muscles by sharing our stories in these venues help us get the word out about what we do with integrity and authority.
Check out the video, and let me know if I can help, too.
Cheering you on!
